API
Humaan currently exposes local integration surfaces through CLI JSON output, versioned files, and the Rust engine. This repository does not define a public hosted REST API, API-key flow, or HTTP endpoint contract.
CLI JSON Contract
Add --json to a supported command and capture stdout separately from stderr.
| Command | JSON result |
|---|---|
project init, project show | Object with project and root. |
import, list, export | Array of recording manifests, including for a single result. |
inspect | Array containing the manifest; a LeRobot recording can also include a source provenance object. |
verify | Array containing id, valid, and error for failed entries. The error field is omitted for valid entries. |
A successful verification entry has this shape:
[
{
"id": "warehouse-attempt-001",
"valid": true
}
]
A failed entry includes a diagnostic string in error. Do not classify failures
by matching its wording. A verification report with failed entries exits with
code 1; an error that prevents the operation from producing a report can instead
leave stdout empty. Check process status and output together.
File Contracts
| Contract | Responsibility |
|---|---|
| Project manifest | Project identity and format version. |
| Recording manifest | Experience metadata and checksummed artifact declarations. |
| Annotations | Human outcome reviews and their revision history. |
| Learning set | Immutable experience selection and pinned curation evidence. |
Read the project schema, recording and annotation specification, and learning-set specification before producing or consuming those files. Each format has its own version. Artifact paths resolve relative to the recording directory, rather than the project root.
Rust Engine Entry Points
| Entry point | Responsibility |
|---|---|
project::init, project::discover, project::store | Initialize and locate project identity and recording storage. |
import_recordings | Detect and import supported source recordings. |
inspect, inspect_experience | Validate a recording directory or a stored experience. |
list, verify | List verified experiences or collect per-entry verification results. |
list_metadata, experience_metadata | Read manifest metadata without establishing artifact integrity. |
export | Verify and copy a recording to a new destination. |
annotations module | Read and save revisioned human reviews. |
learning_sets module | Create, list, and export curated learning sets. |
See SDKs for local crate integration and generated Rust documentation. Desktop Tauri commands are application implementation details, rather than a separate public service API.
Compatibility
Pin the CLI or engine revision used by automation. Validate required fields and supported format versions, preserve artifact bytes, and keep errors visible to callers. Review release notes and the changelog before upgrading.
