The nature of intelligence
Human intelligence has never developed through cognition alone. A child does not learn what heat means by reading its definition — they reach out, feel the consequence, and adapt. Intelligence emerges from the continuous loop between body, perception, and world. It is assembled through experience, not installed from above.
The transition happening now
AI is undergoing the same transition. The first wave — language, reasoning, generation — demonstrated what is possible when intelligence is given access to information. The next wave gives intelligence a body. Systems that exist in physical space, that sense and act and adapt in real time. This is where the next decade of meaningful value gets created.
The gap no one has closed
Building embodied systems today resembles building web applications before frameworks existed — fragmented, expensive, and dependent on deep specialization that most makers do not have access to. The capability is advancing. The tooling has not kept pace.

The word humanly matters to us because it describes both what we are building toward and how we believe it should be built — with hands, with iteration, with experience. Intelligence assembled the way humans have always learned: through doing.

Intelligence is not a static model deployed once. It is an evolving system improved through continuous real-world experience. We connect robot observations, training datasets, and policy evaluation into one cohesive loop so every interaction makes the robot smarter.
Accessible experimentation
We combine modular, easy-to-assemble hardware with open-source software, 3D-printable components, and affordable designs. These foundations lower the barrier so developers can build, experiment, and contribute to the learning loop from early prototypes to real-world applications.
Intelligence belongs to no one
The most consequential technology in history has never been owned by one company. Intelligence is no different. We are building the infrastructure layer that keeps the future of embodied AI open — so the next breakthrough comes from a maker in a garage, not only from a lab with a billion-dollar budget.
Speed is respect
Building robots should not take months or years. Our north star is turning weeks of frustration into days of creation. Every design decision — from mechanical interfaces to software APIs — is judged by one question: does this make makers faster? Speed is not a metric. It is respect for the maker's time.
Open by default, trusted by design
Intelligence that operates in the physical world must be legible — to the makers who build it, and the people who live with it. Open architecture is not idealism. It is the only foundation on which trust can be built at scale. Systems people cannot understand are systems people will not rely on.
Profit follows purpose
We measure success by how many makers build something that genuinely improves life for people beyond the system itself. We are not against profit — but we believe profit is the result of creating something the world actually needs, not the goal we optimize for. Meaningful adoption by everyone is the only metric that compounds in the direction we care about.
